Homemade Granola

Crunchy Homemade Goodness

Homemade granola is so easy to make and keeps in an air-tight container for a really long time. So why not try some today? You can customize it any way you want…add various nuts, dried fruit and even chocolate chips if you’re looking for some dark chocolate anti-oxidents!

4 1/2 cups rolled oats
3/4 cups wheat germ
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 cups oil
1 1/4 cups honey
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. raw or brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cups coconut (optional)
1/2 cup chopped raw nuts, like cashews, pecans or almonds (optional)
1/2 cup dried fruit or chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients together, except dried fruit or chocolate chips. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. Stir after 15 minutes. Increase temperature to 325 degrees. Stir and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Cool and add fruit or chocolate, if desired. Store in an air-tight container at room temperature. Serve on top of yogurt, oatmeal, ice cream, anything!
