Happy National Grand Marnier Day

Delicate Grand Marnier

Grand Marnier is one of my favorite liqueurs. My husband and I have a fun story about it. We were in Paris on our honeymoon and ordered a cordial of Grand Marnier after a meal. The Frenchman who owned the establishment and spoke no English feigned to not understand us as we repeated “Grand Marnier” about 20 times. Finally, in his heavy accent, he exclaimed “Oh, Grrrraaaahhhnnnnn Maaahhhnnnayyyy!” sounding exactly like us. Then he charged us about $25 for the cordial. So we smile every time we have some. I keep it handy to drizzle on fresh fruit, add to creme brulee or include in a martini recipe. I also have a much requested recipe  – Orange & Cranberry Bread with Grand Marnier Glaze. The glaze makes the recipe. How do you use Grand Marnier in the kitchen? There are lots of Grand Marnier recipes here if you need some inspiration.
