Now here’s a day I can fully support. I love waffles! I’m generally a butter and warm maple syrup kind of girl, a traditionalist. I don’t like to pile fruit or whipped cream on them. I do like my fruit on the side because the syrup should never touch the fruit or eggs or whatever else is on the plate.
Twenty years ago when we first moved to Folsom, our only relative in the area, Nadine, gave me some sourdough starter and a recipe for sourdough waffles. They were amazing and I made them every Sunday in order to keep the sourdough starter going. Sadly, I let it go after a while. Today is a good reminder to restart that effort!
