Happy National TV Dinner Day

Swanson TV dinner

Yum to chicken and mashed potatoes. Ick to veggies and dessert.

Oh do I remember having TV dinners on TV trays in front of the TV when we were kids. It was a special treat. They’d come covered in foil and be burning hot when placed in front of me and my sister. Mom would pull back the foil and tons of steam would escape. I always ate the main dish and mashed potatoes, but never the carrots and peas, and usually not the dessert because I thought hot fruit tasted weird. Mainly it was cool that we got to eat in front of the TV. Swanson is credited with making the TV dinner a household item. Check out the history of the TV dinner and see what smells and tastes come back to you.
