Monday is National Sundae Day

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! I’m pretty simple with my ice cream desires, having three basic go-to ice cream treats. 1) Super thick chocolate milk shake made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup; 2) Vanilla ice cream with tons of chocolate syrup that I mush up in a bowl; and 3) Hot fudge sundae made with vanilla ice cream (chocolate chip or Moose Tracks if I’m feeling wild) and lots of hot fudge — no nuts, no whipped cream, nothing to spoil the perfect union of vanilla and chocolate.

Dump the cherry and I’m all over it.

Today is National Sundae Day so I think I’ll celebrate with a special treat tonight. I actually have a jar of peanut butter hot fudge that I purchased on our last trip to the wine country (peanut butter and chocolate being my all-time favorite food combination) that I’m going to break out. I know, I know, I’m getting a little wild with my sundae. But every now and then, you just gotta say, “What the heck” and go for it.
